LabBook has grown and improved since the system was first introduced in 2010.

Since it was launched in 2010, the LabBook system has been tried, tested and enhanced. The software can be used in single or multi-station for all the computers in the laboratory.

LabBook was created by the Foundation as part of the RESAOLAB project.
It is co-financed by Agence Française de Développement (AFD) and Mérieux Foundation.

The PROALAB project is based at the West African Health Organization (WAHO) and part of the WAHO Laboratory Strategic Plan. The project is funded by the German Development Bank (KFW) and since 2024 contributes to LabBook to improve the epidemiological surveillance network and the laboratory systems in the ECOWAS region.
